The exhibition titled “Love Center Christmas Bazaar” (market) brought together different people in arts for a Christmas celebration and as a platform to exhibit their works. This Christmas bazaar took place at Kacyiru from 10am to 6pm.
“We plan for the Christmas bazaar to happen every once in a year to promote talents in art and 20 per cent will go to the end period poverty project which we put much effort in. I am very passionate about ending period poverty and I try my best to make advocacy for young women who cannot afford to buy sanitary pads, “ said the country director Divine Akimana.
Akimana who is also an author also recently represented the country in Africa’s youth summit dubbed” You Lead” held in Tanzania that connected the youth around Africa with policy makers and discussed with them what they want to change in their countries and on successful young people in business.
She further added that the level of artists in Rwanda have grown over the years, although Rwandans haven’t yet understood the value and efforts of the artists, and this applies the same to literature. She hopes as time comes, Rwandans will understand the value of literature and arts generally.
The event hosted different renowned artists like live painter Remy Iradukunda and Akimana who performed her recent book made of a collection of poems titled “My vows to love” among others. Poetry shows happen every month.
